Review: S.I.C. Vol.28 Classics 2007 - Kamen Rider Faiz

Wolf Orphnoch

Review:
Finally got our hands on the SIC Kamen Rider Faiz. Take note that this isn't just your regular SIC figure. This is the 2007 Classics ver. of SIC Faiz. To be honest we don't know how it's different from the 2003 ver. aside from the SIC Hero Saga booklet included and the SIC 2007 Classics box casing. Inside, you will see that the contents are exactly the same for both the 2003 and 2007 ver.

Now let's get started with the unboxing of the figure. The actual box is being covered by an outer box with the indication of SIC Classics 2007. On the sides of the box you will see silhouette images of Faiz and Wolf Orphnoch. Taped inside the box is the SIC Hero Saga booklet. Just to give you some heads up, the booklet shows you diorama images of all the SIC Kamen Riders from the Faiz series. After opening the box you will see that the contents are divided into two sets. Most of the big parts are wired in place, while the others are just taped in. So we had to untwist a lot of plastic wires just to get everything out. There's also a yellow background with the Smart Brain logo on it. Perfect to be used when taking pictures of the figure.

Articulation is good but has some limitations. The shoulder guard prevents the arms from making side movements. Another problem are the loose legs which affects the balance of the figure. So you may need a display stand to perform some of Faiz's trademark poses, especially the rider kick. The figure comes with 3 pairs of hands: relaxed hands, gripping hands and closed fists.

Time to look at the accessories. Starting off is the Faiz Phone. It has a small hole at the back for attachment on the buckle. It can also flip open and change into gun mode. We really like it for it's multi-purpose feature. The irritating part is it falls off easily from the belt buckle. Next is the Faiz Pointer. It can be placed either on the right leg or right side of the belt. It also comes with an extra part to attach it to the Faiz Phone. On the left side of the belt is the Faiz Shot. It's handle can be folded to be used for gripping.

Another close ranged weapon is the Faiz Edge. Like the Faiz Pointer and Shot, it's made of metal so it's actually quite heavy. There is definitely weight issue on the arms. It could barely lift the Faiz Edge without getting support from the other arm. Last of the accessory and our favorite is the Smart Brain suitcase. Inside it can hold the Faiz Phone, Pointer, Shot and Belt Buckle. It's really an exact mini replica of the actual Smart Brain suitcase. Let's also not forget the Faiz Memory. It's initially installed in the Faiz Phone and can also be placed on the Faiz Pointer, Shot and Edge.

Moving forward, we'll now discuss the main feature of this SIC Faiz figure which is it's ability to transform into the Wolf Orphnoch. It's actually stressful because you need to remove all of Faiz's armor and body parts, and change it with the Wolf Orphnoch parts. It's very fulfilling once you've finished the transformation. He has very fine details with metallic spikes scattered throughout his body. His replaceable hands comes with a pair of closed fists and relaxed hands. Too bad the poses he can do are few and doesn't have any accessories. Balance is poor considering the legs are curved. So do expect some limited leg movements. It's also irritating to move the arms as the part covering it often falls off easily. With all that being said, the Wolf Orphnoch is hard to play with. It's best if he is left on display and untouched.

Overall,  the SIC Kamen Rider Faiz is a fun but stressful figure. It's hard to play with it without any parts falling off. Figures like this will really test your patience. On the other hand, this SIC is one of a kind. It's rare to find a 2 in 1 figure that comes with great accessories. The fine details and awesome features compensated for it's liabilities. This SIC Kamen Rider Faiz gets a perfect score from us. You will definitely get your money's worth. The only question is if your going to display him with Faiz form or Wolf Orphnoch. This concludes our review. Thanks for viewing and we hope you find it useful. Our next target is the SIC Kamen Rider Faiz Blaster Form & Auto Vajin. Hopefully we'll get it soon. So look forward to it.
